Rules Enforced by the .htaccess File in iThemes Security Pro

On 02/26/2020 WP Engine announced that they would be deprecating the .htaccess file in PHP 7.4 and above. The Bans and Lockouts will still be executed without the .htaccess. The settings below rely on the .htaccess file to be enforced. 

  • Security> Settings> Banned Users> Default Blacklist> HackRepair.com's Blacklist
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> System Files
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> Directory Browsing
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> Request Methods
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> Suspicious Query Strings
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> Non-English Characters
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> PHP in Uploads
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> PHP in Plugins
  • Security> Settings> System Tweaks> PHP in Themes
  • Security> Settings> WordPress Tweaks> Reduce Comment Spam
