BackupBuddy: Scheduling

BackupBuddy also allows you to create schedules for when backups should be created and where they should be sent to. This feature helps to create a consistent amount of time between each backup without having to remember to log in and create the backup.

We recommend that you run a full/complete backup at least monthly and a database backup at least weekly. We also recommend that you schedule your backups for when traffic on your site is light and to store your backups in an offsite location.

How Backup Schedules Work

Schedules are inserted into the WordPress CRON system and are executed once by the WordPress actions core at a time which you specify. The action will fire off when someone visits your WordPress site if the scheduled time has passed. A scheduled action cannot occur until someone visits after the scheduled time has passed.
